Hedsor House Wedding Photography | Katharina & Chris

What a day! Katharina and Chris came to see me about their Hedsor House Wedding Photography late last year and I knew instantly that it would be a fantastic wedding and one I had been looking forward to for a while!

As I drove over to Hedsor House early in the morning for the bridal prep, it occurred to me I was going to get another wedding with some sunshine! There was not a cloud in the sky which was great as Hedsor House is utterly stunning with beautiful grounds so it was lovely to be able to make the most of it with nice, wide dramatic shots during the day.

When I arrived the ceremony room was already looking wonderful, but I scooted upstairs to meet Katharina up in the bridal suite where she was getting ready. The room was amazing, huge great sash windows letting in light by the bucketload – the day was already shaping up well!! Bridal prep was great, there was a real positive, excited buzz flying around as Katharina and her bridesmaids were all getting ready. Only marginally late (I was tempted to ask for Katharinas passport just to check she really was German at this point), and we headed down for the ceremony where Chris was already waiting. I had a great spot to stand with a good view of them both but whilst being obscured from the rest of the wedding party by the flowers – always a bonus! After the ceremony everyone headed outside to enjoy the sunshine, a stiff breeze helping to keep down the temperature whilst also helping me take advantage of Katharinas beautiful veil in the photos!

One really lovely idea was that all of the guests wrote things for Katharina and Chris to do once they were married, these were then copied out and attached to pre-paid and filled out postcards which were attached to balloons. Chris and Katharina were then presented with the copies detailing all the things they need to do whilst the balloons were all released into the sunset with their challenge being to complete the tasks before the associated post card arrived back through their mailbox. Watching the balloons disappear into the clear evening sky was a lovely way to end the meal and start the evening part of the reception.

A great band with plenty of people making use of the dance floor rounded the day up really nicely. I was right in my initial thoughts from that first meeting – it was a lovely day and a pleasure to be a part of. Below are a few (ok, quite a lot) of my favourites from the day.
