Early in September saw me take my first trip to the London Wetland Centre for the wedding of Kat & Fred. A gorgeous, sunny late summer day in a beautiful venue with a really lovely couple, what a great way to spend the day!
It started at The Lodge Hotel in Putney where I met up with Kat as she returned from the Wetland Centre after the final setup and check through. A relaxed and fun start to the day with sunlight streaming through the windows as the girls played musical mirrors and before we knew it the taxis had arrived to take everyone to the Wetland Centre.
I headed over to meet up with Fred and take a quick walk around the venue before Kat arrived. The ceremony itself took place in the Observatory and you’d be hard pushed to find as stunning a backdrop for a wedding ceremony anywhere. Floor to ceiling windows overlooking the main lake with the London skyline in the background! Wow!
After the ceremony they guests had a chance to explore the centre which was created from some redundant water reservoirs whilst we got a few pictures of Kat and Fred. We then headed back the Waters Edge which was beautifully decorated for the wedding breakfast with some fantastic personal touches (like the custom made bunting) and, certainly a first for me, adopted lobsters for the wedding favours!! A stunning sunset saw us into the evening as the night descended, the music started and the dancing got underway.
I think it’s safe to say that a brilliant day was had by all and I wish Kat and Fred every possible future happiness. My view of the day can be seen in the pictures below. Please feel free to leave a comment, they are always appreciated.
