The Conservatory at Painshill Park Wedding Photographer | Jodie & Nick

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of being the Painshill Park Wedding Photographer for Jodie and Nick. The wedding ceremony took place at the gorgeous St Marys Church in Cobham with the reception held in the Conservatory at Painshill Park in Surrey. They are two really beautiful venues and they matched the day perfectly. We were blessed in a break from the awful weather that April this year seemed to bestow on us, leaving us instead with lovely soft light, dramatic skies and, most importantly, the ability to go outside without getting soaked!

The day itself went wonderfully, Nick and Jodie were an absolute pleasure to work with and it was one of those days where there is always something going on which, as a documentary wedding photographer, makes my life very easy. Painshill Park has lots and lots of opportunities for photography and the walled garden which contains the Conservatory is beautiful. The speeches were superb and Nicks brother, despite claims of nervousness, produced a wonderful speech and showed his true colours as a natural performer! There were lots of lovely little details and the cake itself was a work of art (made by a close friend of theirs) and I loved the cake stand/wood log.

For the evening they had a Ceilidh band (Licence to Ceilidh – who were brilliant) which guaranteed a packed dance floor from start to finish. I love the look of panic/determination/mayhem that ceilidh dancing brings to the proceedings, especially for the guys that get on the dance floor. It was obvious though that a great time was had by all which always translates to a fantastic set of images.
