With warnings of the biggest storm for a long time filling the radio, I jumped in the car and headed round the M25 for the Friern Manor Country House wedding of Chantelle and Arun. Fortunately, the whole day was at the one venue so, once there, no concerns about trying to get anywhere else.
I arrived shortly after Chantelle and headed up to meet her getting ready. Everyone was incredibly excited which is one of the main reasons I love being around for the bridal preparations, the atmosphere is always fantastic. Once ready, Chantelle and Rae were watching all the guests arrive through the bedroom window and the nerves were starting to kick in!
I headed in to the conservatory to meet up with Arun as Chantelle got ready to make her grand entrance. His face lit up when he looked round to see Chantelle, not surprising really as she looked amazing! The ceremony was lovely, Alfie made a great page boy (although made good use of his Dad to help to retrieve the wedding ring!), Chantelle and Arun looked so happy throughout that it was a pleasure to watch.
After the ceremony we grabbed a couple of shots outside before retreating into the reception to escape the weather. The room for the wedding breakfast looked beautiful. A ceiling full of fairy lights leading to a huge chandelier in the middle, gorgeous table arrangements and a stunning cake made by Chantelles brother Lee. After the meal, the speeches were both heartwarming and funny in fairly equal doses. This was followed by a chance for the guests to mingle, chat, have a drink and to choose some sweets from the most impressively stocked sweetie table I have ever seen! A quick outfit change to something more traditional for Arun and a few others, then everyone headed to the dance floor to watch the first dance, always a lovely moment and great to watch.
All in all, an utterly fantastic day. A real pleasure to have been able to document and an honour to have been able to attend. It’s a bit of a bounty of images for the blog, I was struggling to narrow them down. Please feel free to leave a comment below, they are always much appreciated. If you’re looking for a documentary wedding photographer, please get in touch and I’d love to have a chat about your day.
