At the end of August I headed down to Wiltshire for the Trafalgar Park wedding of Jane and Dino. It was my first time to Trafalgar Park, and what a stunning venue it is! Just outside Salisbury and set within large beautiful grounds, it’s an amazing location for a wedding.
When I arrived Jane was in the process of getting ready in one of the large rooms upstairs. As a private residence, there aren’t hordes of people around Trafalgar Park, giving a really serene atmosphere to the morning. As the wedding ceremony was quite late in the day, Jane and Dino decided to have a ‘first look’ shoot before the ceremony to get some shots of the two of them. It worked really well and was great way for them to relax before the ceremony.
The ceremony itself was held in the Baroque Hall at the front of the house, after which everyone headed to the gardens at the back for some lawn games and drinks. Jenga, hoopla and croquet in the late summer sunshine whilst drinking champagne. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday really!
The wedding breakfast took place in the beautifully restored dining room in the South Wing, after which there was time for more drinks whilst the evening entertainment was set up. This took the form of Rockaoke! With a bride and groom duet instead of a first dance. I must admit to being more than a little sceptical when Dino first mentioned it, but it was absolutely fantastic and the guests had a hard act to follow after the duet. They certainly managed it though, the first being a full on performance of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” – enhanced greatly by the Croatian accent! It was great to see people getting up and having a go and was a brilliant way to spend the evening.
A fabulous day with an equally fabulous couple. Below are a few of my favourites from the day, please feel free to leave a comment!
